A unique bush heirloom variety highly resistant to disease and pests. These plants grow very fast and produce large loads of deep purple beans though out the summer, you will be amazed with your harvests! A bush variety doesn’t need any support or trellis. This plant can easily grow in cooler climates and soils, and it can survive bean beetles. Each pod is long and without strings. Royal Burgundy’s no doubt are loaded with antioxidants and proteins. Usually, the purple color turns green when cooked.

Growing tips

Soaking seeds for about an hour in lukewarm water prior to sowing helps in speedy germination. Add organic rich compost to the soil, keep check on nitrogen. Beans plants are capable of producing their own nitrogen. Ensure the soil is free draining or the roots of the bush bean will rot, if your planting site is prone to water-logging try creating a raised bed instead.  Mulch plants well and water regularly, avoid watering leaves as this can encourage rusts.  To ensure a continuous crop, stagger when you plant each row by a week or two as bush bean plants tend to produce their crop all at once.  Pick beans regularly when young for best flavor and to prolong the harvest, bush bean plants will stop growing if the pods are left to fully fill out with seeds.
